Surgical treatments offer a simple and efficient solution for various benign and malignant skin conditions. Skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma, is often treated through surgical excision. Our skilled dermatologists, who are certified by reputable boards, can also perform surgical excisions to remove growths, cysts, or lesions. These procedures are typically minimally invasive and conducted under local anesthesia.

What is Melanoma?
Melanoma, a highly severe form of skin cancer, arises from melanocytes that produce melanin. While the precise cause of melanomas remains uncertain, specialists suggest that excessive exposure to UV radiation or tanning lamps could heighten the likelihood of developing this type of cancer.
It is important for women under 40 to be aware that they are at a higher risk of developing melanomas. Knowing the warning signs and symptoms of skin cancer is crucial in order to catch and treat them before they have a chance to spread. Early detection of melanoma greatly increases the chances of successful treatment.
The ABCDE formula is used to identify melanomas.
A stands for Asymmetry – There is a mismatch in the two halves of a mole
B stands for Border irregularity – The edges of the mole are split or blurred
C stands for Color – A single mole does not have one shade of color
D stands for Diameter – Melanomas are typically larger than 6mm, but if diagnosed, they may appear smaller
E stands for Evolving – The mole changes in color, shape, and size
